In 2013 we took a break from the Green Fayre, whilst the new skatepark was being built on Picton Playing Fields. Visit the Haverfordwest Skatepark Association on Facebook to see what they have been up to since.

Take a look at this short video of the 2012 Green Fayre, made by Sharron Harris the fantastic community filmmaker from Curious Ostrich.

The 2012 Haverfordwest Green Fayre on 26 May was a resounding success. We were fortunate to have a lovely sunny day and there was a real party atmosphere with the stallholders as well as the visitors enjoying the sunshine and entertainment. There was music, singing and Irish dancing as well as lots of local businesses having the opportunity to promote themselves – what a range, from recycled driftwood to wind turbines and solar energy, there was something for everyone.

There was plenty of delicious food on offer too – lovely lunches by Spring Gardens catering, wood-fired pizzas, local sausages and burgers from Trehale Farm  and locally made ice-cream from Glyn’s ice-cream … and not forgetting local ale and cider to quench our thirst.

It was also the launch of Orchard Mawr, a Transition Haverfordwest flagship project which aims to plant 1000 fruit and nut trees in and around the Haverfordwest area by the end of the decade. The first apple tree was planted on the Picton Field, the start of a wild harvest for everyone to enjoy in years to come.

The Haverfordwest Green Fayre 2012 was supported by the Haverfordwest Improvement Project and Milford Haven Port Authority.
